Rushmore Helicopters has been taking visitors for thrilling aerial tours since 1964. Rushmore Helicopters, right in the heart of Keystone, plus her parent company Black Hills Aerial Adventures, and her sister company Badlands Helicopters, have been under the same ownership for 28 years flying nearly 22,000 visitors each summer season. A wide variety of tour packages and price points are available and feature eye-level views of Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments, the unique Cathedral Spires, Needles Highway, Custer State Park, the Badlands National Park and so much more. Age is no limit - we fly infants (providing ear protection for babies) through centenarians - a bucket list must. Reservations can be made through our Book Now button. However, reservations are not required. A ticket booth is located right downtown so you can leave your car parked and be shuttled up to our helipad. Or simply stop in at the helipad at the top of the Baymont Inn and we will get you on a flight!
This 6 mile flight over the scenic Black Hills is a great tour for anyone wanting to experience the freedom of helicopter flight for the first time. Included in this tour is a profile view of Mount Rushmore.
Mount Rushmore Tour
This 10-mile flight takes you around the National Monument at eye level with a 360-degree view of our “Shrine of Democracy”. This trip also includes an aerial view of the historic town of Keystone, the pigtail bridges and Horsethief Lake.
Black Elk Peak Tour
This 20-mile flight crests Black Elk Peak; the tallest point east of the Rocky Mountains and crowned by a historic stone fire watchtower. It is only accessible by an almost 6-mile hike or by flight. Explore the tower granite pillar formations known as Cathedral Spires and the Needles. Experience the location where National Treasure 2 was filmed – Sylvan lake. This flight also includes a flyby of Mt. Rushmore.
Crazy Horse Tour
This 24 miles allows you to witness history in the making. Crazy Horse Monument on Thunderhead Mountain, a 563-foot tall monument, will become the world’s largest man-made sculpture. As an added bonus, you will get a bird’s eye view of Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
Southern Hills Panorama
This 35-mile journey explores the sacred beauty of the Black Hills. It is a marvelous adventure covering the South Central Black Hills. You’ll be transported around the magnificent Crazy Horse Monument, over to the beautiful Sylvan Lake, to the crest of Black Elk Peak, the majestic Mt Rushmore National Memorial, and the unique formations of the Needles and Cathedral Spires.
