Carrie spent much of her life here in Keystone. Since 1983, the Keystone Historical Museum has showcased artifacts from Carrie, her Ingalls and Swanzey families.
Carrie’s actual birthday is August 3rd – which is during the Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We’ll be celebrating a little early – Join us on July 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2024, for her 154th birthday!
Carrie, a Keystone resident from 1911 until her death in 1946, gave much to our community. Help us honor her legacy with a weekend full of activities:
Carrie’s Corner – Explore artifacts from Carrie and the Ingalls family.
“Little Miss Carrie” Lookalike Contest
Spelling Bee – Sunday at 2 PM
“Where’s Carrie” Activity
Historical Displays and Open House – At the First Congregational Church of Keystone, Carrie’s church.
A special map will guide you to significant sites, marked with banners, that are related to Carrie and her husband, David Swanzey. Enjoy complimentary cupcakes and lemonade as you explore.
