The Red Garter Saloon has been a staple in downtown Keystone for over 50 years. When you step through the door, however, you’ll feel you’ve gone straight back to the Black Hills gold rush. The saloon’s main floor is adorned with maroon damask wallpaper, flowing red curtains, and antique lamps decked out with crystals and red shades. The bar runs the length of the room, complete with local brews on tap and top-shelf liquors behind stained glass doors. Be sure to grab their house-special drink, the Red Garter, which comes with a souvenir garter that’s yours to keep! For the younger members of your party, they also carry a selection of sodas, such as all natural sarsaparilla and birch beer.
The Red Garter Saloon also caters to guests looking for a bite to eat. They partner with The Ruby House next door to provide guests a full food menu besides their saloon offerings. The Red Garter Saloon is also one of the few package liquor stores in Keystone, and their large selection will make sure you find the perfect brew to wet your whistle after you leave.
In the summer, the Red Garter Saloon’s main floor stage hosts comedy shows with a Wild West flair three times a day. They also have nightly live music in the summer — all shows run Monday through Saturday, Memorial Day through mid-September. Their shows are some of the best and most popular in the Black Hills, so make sure you plan time to see them at least once. Shows fill up fast though — plan ahead to get a good seat!
