Keystone’s central location in the Black Hills makes it an ideal home base for exploration. There are plenty of lodging options in town; for those seeking a bit of solitude in a natural setting, Presidential Cabins offers a great getaway. The private resort atmosphere will make you feel like you’re miles from civilization, but downtown Keystone and all its amenities are a short walk away, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial is an easy ten-minute drive.
Presidential Cabins offers three cabins to choose from. The Jefferson Cabin features stunning views from both levels, as well as the outside deck, where you’ll find a large hot tub perfect for soaking and a futon swing. It’s completely furnished inside, with enough beds and pull-out sofas to sleep 10-12 people comfortably. A full kitchen allows you to cook your own meals, but if you’d rather embrace nature, there’s a gas fire pit and grill outside. Amenities include a spiral staircase, satellite television, and air conditioning. The Roosevelt Cabin is a little smaller but every bit as luxurious; you’ll have access to the same large wraparound deck, hot tub, and futon. Inside, there’s an electric fireplace, fully-furnished kitchen, and beds for 4-8 people. This cabin features a loft with a separate queen bed; you’ll have to climb up a ladder to reach it. The Washington Cabin is perfect for 6-8 people; it’s got the same amenities as the others, including a loft bedroom, electric fireplace, air conditioning, spiral staircase, and satellite TV.
All three cabins are nestled in the pines and offer spectacular views of Mount Rushmore. Linens, towels, bedding, hairdryers, and washers/dryers are included in each unit. They’re perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, or any occasion where you want a private setting but easy access to the area’s many attractions.
