Looking for an outdoor adventure that combines fun, scenery, and history? Holy Terror Mini Golf, named for the gold mine that played an instrumental role in Keystone’s past, faithfully recreates the city’s mining history through its unique design. Built along the side of a hill lush with Ponderosa pine, this fun and challenging 18-hole course features a wooden mine sluice, complete with rushing water that powers a spinning wheel and empties into a millpond. It’s all surrounded by gold-flecked boulders that will have you channeling your inner prospector. You’ll have to work hard for those holes-in-one; in addition to the usual obstacles, which include simulated sand traps and rough, the course climbs 50 feet up the side of a steep hill. It’s fully lit after dark, meaning play doesn’t stop once the sun goes down.
Holy Terror Mini Golf is conveniently located on Highway 16A next to the National Presidential Wax Museum and Grapes & Grinds. All three businesses are managed by Clay King, who—along with wife Marci and daughters Wilder and Pearl—make it a priority to enjoy adventures throughout the Black Hills. Holy Terror Mini Golf is open from mid-May through September.
