The Black Hills are an adventurer’s paradise; one of the best ways to explore their natural beauty is to get off the beaten path. Black Hills Wilderness Edge Adventures can help you explore some of the area’s hidden gems with an ATV or UTV rental.
Now in their fifth season, Black Hills Wilderness Edge Adventures has a fleet of side-by-side vehicles with options for 2-, 4-, and 6-seat units. Guests can choose from half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) rentals. All vehicles are street legal, and you are free to explore any of the trails in and around Keystone and the Black Hills, as long as they aren’t closed by the Forest Service. With over 600 miles of trails for ATVs, UTVs, and other off-road riders—including 347 miles of trails for vehicles 62″ and less in width—in the Black Hills Motorized Trail System, that gives you plenty of options for exploring. Becki Groven, co-owner, says the majority of people who do half-day rentals end up wishing they’d chosen a full-day rental instead.

Regardless of the vehicle and package, Becki and husband Jarod are happy to recommend some of their favorite trails so you’ll get the most out of your time. Lifelong Keystone residents, they’ll let you know where to find scenic views of Mount Rushmore, the Badlands to the east, and more.
ATV/UTV rentals are perfect for families, nature enthusiasts, and hunters. You can pack a picnic lunch, head out early, and visit secluded areas of the Black Hills few people ever get to see. Rentals include helmets, fuel, trail permits, and coolers. You’ll be able to stock up on ice, snacks, and drinks in the office. Reservations are available on the website or by calling 605-391-6551.
