Looking for secluded cabins, beautiful scenery, and a homey atmosphere all year long? American Pines Cabins has all three, and they throw in ATV rentals for even more family fun.
Just outside of Keystone, American Pines Cabins is situated on 4 acres of mountain meadow bordered by Battle Creek. Every cabin has two bedrooms with a queen bed each, as well as a sofa sleeper in the living room. You’ll have your own fully furnished kitchen, a full bathroom, Wi-Fi, satellite T.V., and a propane grill for cooking out. Prices vary by season, but they are one of the few games in town that stays open all year long. For slightly larger parties, they also offer the American Pines Lodge, which has 3 bedrooms with queen beds, a sleeper sofa, and 4 portable cots. The lodge boasts similar amenities to the cabins, including 2 full bathrooms.
While Keystone proper focuses on food and entertainment, the Black Hills offer an endless supply of incredible trails that will leave you in awe no matter the season. Spring and especially summer are the hills at their best—amiable temperatures, abundant wildlife, and incredible views around every corner. This high season, however, also comes with crowds. Meanwhile, fall brings incredible foliage displays, and winter in the Black Hills looks like a postcard around every corner.
Regardless of the season, what better way to experience the incredible outdoor beauty of the Keystone area than a stay in a quaint cabin with amiable hosts who treat you like family? American Pines Cabins is exactly that, and even welcome your furry four-legged family too! They are perfectly situated to be the base camp to all your adventures; the property is less than ten minutes from downtown Keystone, and only fifteen to Mount Rushmore.
Ready to hit the trail? Owners Jarod and Becki have lived in the area for over two decades, and know all the best trails. Just head over to their rental shop, Black Hills Wilderness Edge Adventures, and they’ll be happy to get you started. Suit up, pack a lunch, and let the mud fly as you cruise down the trail in one of their comfortably appointed ATVs. Be sure to keep an eye out for deer along the way, and make frequent stops to breathe in the pine trees and enjoy the pristine wilderness. When you return to your cabin, fire up the grill and eat dinner under the uninterrupted South Dakota sky.
Whether you enjoy the hustle and bustle of summer months, or the quiet serenity of the winter, American Pine Cabins is the perfect place to explore all the Black Hills have to offer.
